Entry 1 - Reflections on Previous I Search Experiences
1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?=I've done many research projects, but to name a few are the presidential caucuses, a bio board in 6th grade, and one about labyrinths.
2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?= Research, in my words, means that you've studied enough to know basic facts of a topic.
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?= A research success of mine would have to be the bio board, in which I felt confident in my work. A failure would be a paper I did in 5th grade where the topic I chose had liittle information.

Monday, April 7 - Mrs. DaQuanno's Class --Wiki entry 2 - Reflection on Webbing Process

I think the webbing process helped/didn't help me find a topic because:

=

I think the webbing process helped me because it was a better, faster way to receive information.

Wiki entry 3 - Why I Chose This Topic & What I Know About My Topic Topic- My topic is the role of Joan of Arc.

Why did I choose this?= I thought she was an interesting person to her time, and very influential. I also wanted to know more about her lifestyle.

=

What do I already know about the topic?= She became a saint, was burned at the stake, and was "chosen" to be spoken to by the saints.

Tuesday, April 8 - Mrs. Felps' Class

--Wiki entry 4 - Pre-notetaking activity (in class)
1. Brainstorm a list of questions related to your topic.
  • Fat Question: How did Joan of Arc influence the people of her time?
  • Main Skinny Question: What is the definition of bravery today, as opposed to then, and how did she qualify?
  • Why was Joan of Arc "chosen" to be spoken to by the saints?
  • Why was she chosen to be the only woman fighting a man's war in the time?
  • How did Joan of Arc save her fellow Frenchmen by fighting in the 100 Years War?

5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - for homework (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
The notesheet got me to organise and gather my information before acyually starting, and also helped me tothink of what I neede to get done. Creating a fat question was difficult for me to accomplish, because I wasn't sure what my main focus of Joan of Arc's life I wanted to cover the most.
